Personally, I think most hondas (not all acuras) look kinda cheesy, especially the older ones with the exhausts and body kits. Also, looking at the 0-60 times, they don't compare to other sports cars. For example, the new civic si is 1 second slower than the new altima v6 coupe and 2 seconds slower than a mustang gt.
What makes honda such a great racer company?? Maybe I'm just not getting something|||they're not racers, they're ricers!
Just like little girls get Barbies to dress up and care for, little boys get hondas and attach all manner of ugly/loud/hilarious body kits, lights, fart cans and crap.
Everyone knows that the more aftermarket stuff attached to the ricer, the bigger the babymaking equipment of the babyboy driving it (I'd say owning it, but it's inevitably registered to his mommy).|||Well first off, you cant compair a v6 altima coupe or a (crappy) ford mustag to a 4 cylinder civic, you can however compair it to a 08 accord coupe. And hondas are very refinned and tunned vehicals even stock, they have extremley great handling and have reliablity and quality that is unbeilevable.

|||Oh also the honda s2000 is probaly the most compairable to the mustang, even though it is only a 4 cylinder aswell. The s2000's styling is much "girlier" than the mustangs but its a much better value and all around better vehical. Wait till you see the 09 or 2010 s2000, its BAD.

I believe it's because they have one of the best resale values, reliability, and good technology/performance output from a small motor which also equals good mileage. Not everyone buys a Honda and puts a non-functional wing on it.

|||But if you insist on making comparisons, then compare apples to apples. A honda civic SI is a 2 dr 4 cylinder coupe is a good comparison to a Cobalt SS or something SIMILAR, not to a V8 mustang GT %26lt;-- which is about 3 seconds slower than a Enzo at the 1/4 mi (example of bad example).

Racing if Formula 1 Racing is arguably the highest type of Auto racing. Which takes the most skill and technique to master. Not just shifting fast and having quick 60ft times (which also takes some skill).

|||Honda is a company that sells cars so they can race (F1/Indy 500). Most other (competitor) brands race to sell cars. Honda motors has won more than any other in the world of F1 and Indy car racing.

|||With that said, most Hondas/Acuras like my 2002 Honda S2000 was made to be driven on a road track or auto cross. Althought the S can reach 60mph in under 6 sec and 1/4 in low 14's high 13's which is decent, it really shines most at the local road courses.

|||all of the above and the fact that you can relatively easily put almost any honda fwd powertrain into about any other fwd chassis. Example, is a lightweight 2200lb EG civic hatchback plus a K20A motor, even in bone stock form this motor will scream in a car that light, not to mention it's...

|||1.honda are reliable 2.fuel economic 3.looks arent bad if not riced out. 4. great resale value last for ever 5. parts are cheap (stock) 6. aftermarket performance is packed with honda parts. bcuz u can have ur stock looking honda with a b18 turbo and still get 30miles to the gallon!

|||Ok, where to begin.... #1 your not comparing similar vehicals. #2 There are just as many idiots that put huge spoilers and stupid body kits on mustangs as Hondas. Hondas are fuel efficient, hold value and last alot longer than most. I would like to see Ford get over 100 hp per liter out of anything!
