How many miles is too many for a 2004 Honda cbr600rr motorcycle?

Just saw an add for a 2004 honda cbr 600rr with 21000 miles on it, is that too many? The bike comes with a yosh slip on and frender eliminater and he's asking $3900. Thanks!|||It's absolutely not unreasonable, by any means. What you will need to know is how it has been ridden for those 21,000 miles. If he has been riding it normally then it will be barely broken in, it's a Honda, their engines are bulletproof. However, if he's been ringing the **** off of it constantly (and they are a high revving bike so the possibility is certainly there) then there could be some wear and tear going on.

Ask about the regular maintenance and whether he has any proof of services, how it has been ridden, if you are serious maybe you could ask to have it inspected at a shop at your or his cost.

Hope this helps. They are great bikes.|||That is less than the average 鈥撀燼bout 4,000 per year.

That does not mean that the figure you are looking for is not 21,001 miles.

There is more likelihood that other consumables need to be replaced (and a major service due). Learn how to check the condition of bearings.

btw this is not a bike for a novice.|||It really depends on the bike. Sportbikes that are ridden to redline their entire life can smoke and foul plugs with as little as 19,000 miles. Could be a great deal. But, unfortunatly someone who would put a slip on muffler is also the same kind of person that will run a bike to redline all the time. You really need to know what you are looking for. I would pass on this bike.
