How much does it cost to replace a timing belt on a Honda Accord 2001?

Honda did a check up on my car (2001 Honda Accord) and they said my timing belt needs to be replaced for $2,000. My car has 110,000 miles. How much should it cost to be replaced? $2,000 seems like a rip off to me.|||It sure does. Without replacing the water pump (which I strongly recommend - it adds about $100 and saves you a potential calamity) the 4 cylinder engine is about $350-$550 where I live and the V6 is $425-$600. Change the belt and water pump and spend the other $1400 on something nice.|||first of all, is engine starting and running? if so then the price is vastly high!, however if not then obviosly they have determined the belt broken and so a good possibility of internal damage, which entails the head/s removal and remedy. also the size of engine matters! 4 cyl= ! cyl head and 6 cyl=2 cyl heads. a lot more time consuming repair on the bigger engine and more parts req. so furnish additional info for further help.
