I have a Honda Interceptor motor that was taken out of the bike. The frame is gone. I don't have the VIN. How can I found out exactly which 1984 Honda Interceptor bike the motor came out of. It is 998cc motor. We only have the serial number of the motor to go off of.|||It most likely came out of one of these.
http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_v鈥?/a>|||You have answered your own question. The engine came out of a VFR 1000.That's the designation of the Interceptor|||The Interceptor was SIMILAR but not the same as the Sabre and Magna series. The Interceptor was a true V, S%26amp;M were more like L's with shaft drive, If your engine has the cylinders split by a vertical line it is an Interceptor with a chain drive.|||The serial number if you take to honda they might tell you the yr of the motor
Yes shaft drives are magna and sabre .
Chain drive is the vf intersepter id say its v65
The v45 ive seen where 700 to 750
