How long will a 95 Honda Accord with 247,000 miles on it last?

It's pretty high mileage, but I know Hondas are known for lasting a long time. It doesn't have any major problems. I'm just looking for something that will last four or five years before I can get a better vehicle. I'm also planning on driving it very very far. So would a 95 Honda Accord EX Sedan with 247000 miles on it be worth it to me?|||Four or five years sounds about right. If it made it 247K miles it has probably been taken care of, but you definitely need to know when the timing belt was last replaced. You can't take the seller's word for it - if he doesn't have a receipt you will have to get the belt (and water pump, to ward off evil spirits) replaced. Otherwise you will never know when to do that critical thing.

Not to worry you, but if the igniter has not been replaced it is near the end of its life expectancy. A new one is about $200 plus an hour or so labor (use only genuine Honda) and keep the other as an emergency spare. Replacing it now will save you a tow. I would bet you wouldn't make it 5 years with the original.

Ditto with the main relay (see source). It's cheaper but if it hasn't failed yet it was just waiting for you to buy the car.|||your car can keep going. just do the maintenance. keep up on the oil changes, keep any eye for any leaks, change the timing belt, change the water pump, get new cooling hoses, do a tune up, check your transmission fluid and change it. sounds like alot, but when hondas are properly maintained, they can drive for another 250k miles.|||theres no magic number where it will give up. to maximize its life just keep up on maintence, oil and fluid changes, dont forget the timing belt, 300k+ is not unreasonable|||Just dont abuse it, change the oil regularly. I have 267K on my car. Quiet as new.|||accords are good cars. if u treat it right u have alot of life left. I have seen thoses have up to 500,000 plus kms.|||another 100 thousand?|||its hard to say, it could go for a long time, or die at the next corner
