How long did your Honda Civic last before having major problems?

How long (in both miles AND years) did your Honda Civic last, before having major mechanical problems? Please also indicate whether you live in a snowy area or in a place like California where the conditions favor car longevity.|||we have a 2001 accord (basically the same as a civic) and it has 185,000 miles and counting. there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with it. we live in michigan (snow land). i'd drive it to south america tomorrow if needed. it's been such a good car to us.|||Define major mechanical. My 1992 Civic blew a head gasket at 150K miles and was repaired for less than $500. I drove it up to 183K and then the computer fried and I couldn't find a replacement so I scrapped the car. I bought it used in 1994 w/30K on it and drove it year round here in Buffalo NY. I also had 2 1990 Civics that never had any major problems. I currently drive a 1997 Accord w/112K on it that has never had any major work done, as well as a 2001 Civic w72K on it, The 2001 Civic is the only one that I purchased new in June 2001. Both are daily drivers here as well.|||Here in the Netherlands (so cool, wet, coastal climate so rustbucket conditions) my mother's Civic she bought new back in 1992 I think it was still has no major problems.

Not sure what the miles on it are right now, must be going on 100K or so.

Worst thing was a dead battery a few years ago. That was easily fixed by putting in a new one and should have been done before during regular maintenance but was overlooked (batteries don't last forever).|||alll car will last a long time if proper maintainence is done to it. My 92 Integra GSR with the 1.7l DOHC Vtec last me a long time.. it have over 250k miles on the motor. and I race with it too. It have a lot of Modification done to it. But I do regular maintance on it. Timing belt at every 75k miles, Oil change every 3k miles, tune up(cap, rotor, plug) every 5 months. Its just a matter of how well you take care of your car..

I use to work at a auto repair shop and see a dodge Ram 3500 Diesel 4x4 with 100miles restart over the stock speedometer making it 999,999+100 miles. I was suprise to see one vehicle that actually go over the 999,999 mark. I ask the owner and he say he just did normal maintance to the truck. although he did went through 3-4 transmission since the owner use the truck to haul stuff around the USA.|||im not having mayjor problems yet just normal wear and tear i just want to make my car last longer my car has alot of miles(196,669km/2 yr i have owned it for) on it and i live in canada but im going to start putting the car away in the winter|||it should last over 200,000 miles as long as you keep up on it.|||one day in Tokyo!
