What are the recommendations for getting a Honda's transmission flushed or changed?

I have had no problems with the transmission, I just like to keep up on regular maintenance. The Honda is a 1997 with 130K miles. I've heard that flushing the transmission fluid can cause more problems than just leaving it alone.|||Do not flush a Honda transmission. simply drain and refill.

According to the owner's manual [page 164] for a 1997 Accord, the automatic transmission should be drained and refilled at 90,000 miles.

Less than half or the fluid actually comes out when you drain it so you need to do 3 or 4 consecutive drain and refills to get most of the old fluid out with a short drive between each one. This is shy some owner's and dealers simply recommend a drain and refill every 30,000 miles.|||I had the trans drained from my 1997 Accord w/110K on it, and my Civic with 70K on it done over the summer at a trans shop for $60 each. Not sure about actually flushing the system since most of the junk goes to the bottom of the pan where it is drained. Why throw all of that junk around? Honda does not recommend flushing the system according to the dealer where I bought the Civic, They actually have big signs on the walls!|||drain %26amp; refill only !!! be sure that they use honda fluid or it will shift funny.honda tech 10yrs.
